Karafats Travels and Tours Limited handles personal information used for cargo, vehicle procurement and travel enquiries and agreed services.

Information we collect

We collect the names, contact details and cargo, vehicle or travel requirements that you submit or discuss with us. Website forms do not accept identity-document uploads. If documents are needed for an agreed service, we arrange collection separately. Hosting providers may process routine technical information such as IP addresses and request logs.

Enquiries from this website are sent through WhatsApp. Choosing Send via WhatsApp on any enquiry form, or Get quote in the guided cargo tool, passes the entered details to WhatsApp as a draft. You choose whether to send that draft. Opening a WhatsApp draft does not submit a website enquiry to Netlify.

Why we use your information

We use enquiry details to respond to your request, prepare quotations and take steps you request before a service agreement. If you proceed, we use necessary information to carry out the agreed service. We keep transaction records to meet applicable business and legal record-keeping obligations, and use necessary technical information for our legitimate interest in maintaining a secure, functioning website. Optional analytics relies on your consent. An enquiry does not give permission for unrelated marketing.

Providers and recipients

Netlify hosts this website. New enquiries are not submitted through Netlify Forms. Historical website submissions may remain in our Netlify account under the retention policy below. WhatsApp processes information under its own privacy terms when you choose to use it. Google Analytics 4 is the selected analytics provider and is used only when configured and you accept analytics.

For an agreed service, necessary details may be shared with the relevant supplier, carrier, licensed clearing partner or authority. We share information for enquiry handling and agreed service delivery; we do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep information

Unsuccessful enquiries: If an enquiry does not result in a paid service, we retain it for 12 months from the date of the enquiry, then delete it.

Completed transaction records: Records of paid cargo shipments, vehicle imports and travel bookings are retained for 6 years from the date of completion for Nigerian tax and business record-keeping purposes, then deleted when no further legal retention requirement applies.

Provider-side copies: Provider-side copies, including historical Netlify form submissions, WhatsApp chat history and Google Analytics 4 data if enabled, follow each provider’s own retention settings. Retention of provider-managed copies is not directly controlled by Karafats and may differ from the periods above. Karafats can manage deletion and available retention settings within its own accounts; provider backups and other independently retained copies follow the provider’s policies.

Your rights and questions

You can contact us to request access to or correction of your personal information, request deletion, or raise an objection or restriction request where applicable. These rights are subject to legal requirements, including records we must retain. You may withdraw optional analytics consent through Cookie settings when analytics is enabled. You can raise a concern with us or contact the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Cookies and website measurement

With your permission, Google Analytics 4 uses analytics cookies to measure page visits, enquiry starts, cargo steps, validation-error counts and WhatsApp handoffs. This helps us understand where visitors stop before opening WhatsApp. You can accept or decline analytics and change your choice using Cookie settings. We do not send names, phone numbers, email addresses, free-text messages or shipment documents to analytics. Clicking WhatsApp or a phone link is measured only as a click, not as a received enquiry or connected call.

When analytics is enabled, your analytics preference is stored in your browser until you change it or clear site data.

Overseas processing

Netlify, WhatsApp and Google may process information outside Nigeria in accordance with their service arrangements and privacy policies. Provider retention and processing practices may differ from ours. Contact us for information about the provider arrangements relevant to your enquiry or service.
